Improved Blend Planning and Operations with Integrated Blend Data Analysis

Blend Performance Monitor is a blending decision support system that collects data on the planning and execution of product (gasoline, diesel, naphtha, etc.) blending operations and provides operational and management reports to monitor and improve the performance of these operations. It is part of the Profit® Blending Suite within Honeywell’s Profit Blending and Movement software solution.

The primary tool for improvement of blend planning and operations, Blend Performance Monitor is based on an analysis of integrated blend data, and provides the following benefits:

  • Reduction in blending variability.

  • Reduced quality giveaway.

  • Increased profit.

Blend Performance Monitor gathers data from various external sources such as blend planning tools, blend controllers, lab systems and process data historians. It turns data from these disparate systems into valuable information that supports management decisions on the overall tuning of the blending process and blending component production. It uses Honeywell’s Uniformance® PHD (or other process historians) as the foundation for storing blending data, and provides the following standard reports, in addition to custom reports:

  • Blend Analysis Report.

  • Detailed Recipes Report.

  • Actual vs Target Report.

  • Target vs Plan Report.

  • Actual vs Lab Report.

  • Composition Summary Report.

  • Property Summary Report.

  • Blend Values Report.

  • Backcast Report.

  • Detailed Giveaway Report.

  • Summary Giveaway Report.

With Blend Performance Monitor, the integration of blending data provides the opportunity for continuous improvement of blend planning and operations, and increased profitability. Potential specific areas of benefit include:

  • Logistical and operational giveaway tracking and reduction.

  • Component usage optimization.

  • Operational adjustments for component production.

  • Historical key performance metrics (KPIs).

  • Detailed historical data to identify constraints, justify investments and demonstrate improvements.
