Material Movement Monitoring Solution for Oil Refineries, Tank Farms & Terminals

Movement Monitor is part of Honeywell’s Profit Movement Suite and provides the following key capabilities:

  • Movement Planning and Logging: Supports the complete process of receiving orders, setting up and modifying orders, and logging completed movement information for exporting to other applications.

  • Movement Monitoring: Helps an operator manage, prioritize and monitor material movement activities in refinery off-sites, tank farms or terminals.

  • Tank Quality Integration: TQI tracks product property changes as a result of movement operations for use as part of material certification.

  • Movement Alarming: Monitors movements for many alarm and event conditions, and can notify the operator of upcoming events or alarms.

Movement Monitor uses a model of the plant to define related components of the off-site facilities including pumps, pipes, valves, tanks, and shipping and receiving points. Using this model, it can plan, monitor and report on material movements. Movement Monitor uses unique Tank Farm Graphics as the primary starting point for operator monitoring or movements and manipulation of field elements. They provide a graphical representation of the piping network and associated equipment and enable convenient and intuitive access to individual equipment items for operation as well as monitoring key movement information.

Based on Honeywell’s Experion® platform, Movement Monitor is built on Microsoft Windows technology and communicates to other applications via XML to any OPC-compliant distributed control system.

With Movement Monitor, users can:

  • Reduce losses from tank farm incidents such as spills and product contamination.

  • Improve inventory reconciliation.

  • Lower the number of material downgrades and shipping errors.

  • Eliminate data re-entry and errors.

  • Increase operator effectiveness.
