​The Application Control Environment, or ACE node, is an Experion® controller ideal for supervisory control solutions and integration with third-party control system integrations. This application control system guarantees enhanced productivity to users through easy customization and replication of control strategies to suit the needs of different organizations.

ACE executes Honeywell’s Control Execution Environment (CEE) on a server-grade computer platform. The ACE CEE provides users with a control platform where applications are designed and executed in a deterministic, consistent and reliable environment.

Ideal for implementation across all industries, the ACE node provides a control platform that can be utilized for a wide variety of applications. It can be integrated with several systems such as TDC3000® systems via LCN connectivity or with many third-party systems by integrating OPC Data Access directly into the application control environment. Additionally, custom algorithms can be developed and deployed in standard control strategies. ​

​ACE is part of the Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS) from Honeywell, an open infrastructure that utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to integrate Honeywell and third-party process control solutions into a seamless and powerful system. As with all Experion controllers, the built-in CEE provides users with access to a comprehensive set of control, logic, data acquisition, and calculation function blocks. Additionally, Custom Algorithm Blocks can be created for ACE, greatly expanding the control possibilities. 

Since it runs on a server node, it can connect with other systems, including TPS and non-Honeywell DCS controllers, and use information from MES or ERP systems, databases, and even text files. The ability to bring together many disparate pieces of information into the control system enables much higher productivity.

​ACE delivers robust control, cost efficiency and improved productivity to users. Connectivity to Honeywell’s legacy systems and other third-party systems opens up a wide range of control possibilities as a supervisory node. Custom programming adds to users’ control over the manufacturing process. In addition, the use of a common execution environment enables engineering efficiency and minimizes the learning curve for organizations using Experion controllers.
