DeviceNet is a leading field level network that connects industrial input/output devices with controllers. Honeywell ensures easy integration of Experion® PKS with DeviceNet to help users optimize their existing assets.

The Experion-to-DeviceNet interface provides a communication path from a DeviceNet network to an Experion C200/C200E or C300 controller through a dedicated DeviceNet Bridge (DNB) interface module. The 1756-DNB module can be mounted in both the controller and the I/O rack and provides the interface between the Experion system and any Open DeviceNet Vendor Association (ODVA) certified device. This allows the user to easily and effectively utilize DeviceNet connected device information in the Experion display, and control and logic scheme. 

The Experion-to-DeviceNet interface uses generic Experion C200/C200E and C300 Controller function blocks contained within a DeviceNet interface library (DNETIF). This library is used within the Experion Control Builder to build control strategies. These generic blocks provide a simple interface to Open DeviceNet Vendor Association (ODVA) certified devices that support numeric and discrete data.

The DeviceNet module is a single wide module that can be placed in the C200/C200E Series-A chassis and /or a remote I/O chassis that is connected through the I/O ControlNet. In the C300 topology, the DeviceNet module is placed in a Series-A chassis and connects to the C300 through the FTE Bridge module and the Control Firewall. 

The integration of Experion PKS with DeviceNet allows users to reduce project timelines and cost, protect their investments by maximizing solution lifespan, and optimize operating parameters throughout the lifecycle of the plant.
