In order to maximize productivity and reduce costs, many companies are upgrading their aging systems to Honeywell’s Experion® Process Knowledge System (PKS). Users can benefit from an easy, phased and risk-free migration solution from Foxboro Invensys systems to Experion.

Honeywell’s migration solutions powers Foxboro Invensys systems with additional benefits of Experion PKS, while taking advantage of the investment made in the existing system. Users have the option to go for phased migration or total replacement of the existing Foxboro Invensys system. In addition to improved business agility, the benefits of migrating to Experion include:

  • 30 percent reduction in maintenance costs
  • Up to 40 percent reduction in batch cycle times
  • 3-6 percent production increase
  • 2-3 percent reduction in costs.

The first step in the migration solutions for Foxboro system is upgrading the operator stations. Using the standard Experion configuration tools, the user interface is configured to serve as a common interface for data originating from Foxboro or Experion controller. The Web-enabled Experion stations substitute the proprietary Foxboro consoles, and the Experion user interface allows the Foxboro function block configurations to be read and displayed via detailed displays and faceplates that appear similar to that originating from Experion controller function blocks. Foxboro data can, therefore, be accessed from any Experion user interface with minimal configuration.

Experion PKS optimizes processes and helps users maximize productivity. Migrating to Experion as part of the Honeywell migration solutions for Foxboro Invensys systems offers users up to 50 percent better return on investment over alternative offerings due to its lifecycle approach and the migration is totally risk-free.
