RMG by Honeywell gas analyzers measure the calorific value of gas flowing through pipelines. The gas chromatographs offer high accuracy and low total cost of ownership to users.

RMG by Honeywell’s gas analyzer family includes:

  • PGC 9301 – Gas Chromatograph for analysis of 11 components in natural gas (up to C6+, CO2 and N2)

  • PGC 9302 – Gas Chromatograph for analysis of 9 components in bio gas (up to C4, CO2, N2, H2 and O2)

  • PGC 9303 – Gas Chromatograph for analysis of 12 components in natural gas (up to C6+,CO2, N2, H2 and O2).

The PGC 9300 series process gas chromatographs consist of five key components: the measuring element, analytical computer, sampling probe, pressure reducer and gas supply unit. They have a modular setup and can be equipped with two or three column modules, depending on the gas components to be measured.

The gas chromatographs are based on Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) technology and excel in applications where accuracy is key. The calorific value of the gas is calculated in the GC controller according to ISO 6876.

Next to volume, pressure and temperature, the calorific value is a key component when determining the energy content flowing through a pipeline. Therefore, the accurate measurement of the single gas components is important to gas transmission and distribution companies as well as end-users consuming large amounts of gas, since wrong measurements can directly impact the bottom line.
