​Field Advisor, which combines Honeywell’s Field Advisor software with the latest industrial mobile hardware such as the Honeywell Dolphin® family of handheld computers, allows users to transform their operator rounds from difficult-to-track paper-based tracking to asset tracking based on automated data collection and task execution.

Field Advisor is a software with a set of tools to configure and manage the execution of field tasks by mobile workers in process industries. Designed to fit site work processes for determining the tasks and the frequency at which those tasks are to be executed, this workload management device ensures that an efficient, structured round is presented to the operator for execution.

If collected inspection data falls outside configured limits for the asset, the field worker is guided through tasks to effectively address the asset condition. Field Advisor is ideal for capturing best practices for asset tracking to assure assets are run within limits while assuring production dependability. Thin client tools are available to configure the tasks and review their execution, including thorough comprehensive standard reports. Field workers execute their tasks on handheld computers such as Dolphin® 99EXni.

Using a handheld computer, mobile workers can download the tasks to be performed during a shift. Once downloaded, the user begins work in the field and uploads results back to the server typically using a wireless infrastructure such as Honeywell’s OneWireless™ network. Uploaded data is available for reporting needs.

Honeywell’s Field Advisor can be deployed at an enterprise or site level. Typical installation includes an application server and a web server. Thin clients are used to access these servers for configuration, planning and reporting activities. This workload management device is often paired with process historians such as Honeywell’s Uniformance® PHD for analysis of current information with other archived process data.

With Field Advisor,

  • operator observations can be integrated into maintenance and reliability systems to ensure proactive maintenance, instead of costly reactive responses

  • tasks can be selected from common templates or customized directly to the asset based on best practices

  • field operator training time can be reduced with the guidance of structured tasks 

  • corrective action can be automated if asset tracking shows critical limits being reached

  • consistent execution of operator rounds – right equipment, right procedure and right time – can be ensured.
