Onshore production requires an automation and safety system which not only reports and controls, but provides a solid base for risk mitigation and operator effectiveness. Often, after low-cost bidding, operators are left with automation and safety systems that meet the basic requirements but do not mitigate risk nor help operations concentrate on abnormal situations and effective solutions to process challenges.

Additionally, other layers of activity are placed on operations which further divide their valuable focus and experience. For instance, two critical areas of any production facility are automation control and infrastructure protection. These critical areas, be they at the well head, well pad, drill site or central production processing facility, benefit from automation and infrastructure protection.

Honeywell’s core offering is the Experion® DCS integrated with Safety Manager. Built on proven Quadruple Modular Redundancy (QMR)®, Safety Manager tightly integrates with Experion’s alarm and events capabilities in addition to the plant’s Fire & Gas (F&G), Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Burner Management systems (BMS). While maintaining functional safety separation, it is able to provide single view access to the production manager for easy analysis on an Experion station.

Honeywell also offers a comprehensive physical and cyber security product portfolio that covers the protection of key assets such as property, people, and the environment, as well as the preservation of different sets of criteria such as maintaining confidentiality of information, integrity of data and availability of systems.

Honeywell offers a range of engineering services to bring all the needed intelligence together into a real-time system to help manage the complete operations while maximizing return on investment with continuous lifecycle support. Honeywell is the only automation service provider that continues to support products developed and installed as many as 30 years ago.

Services range from project engineering to handling migrations or expansions, acting as the main automation contractor for new Greenfield sites, managing the security of process control networks or maintaining field instrumentation, control systems and advanced oil and gas applications to maximizing availability and customers’ business potential.

Honeywell can also incorporate the design and operating know-how of UOP, a Honeywell Company, in the design and layout of the graphics, regulatory control strategies, and safety manager for UOP licensed processes to clean the natural gas from H2S, mercury, and other impurities.
